Hung Kee Restaurant has been a staple on Jln Loke Yew in Pudu for decades, serving up Chinese noodle dishes with a strong nod to traditional Cantonese flavors. This is a sit-down, full-service restaurant known for its straightforward, no-frills atmosphere that recalls an older KL dining era—think simple wooden tables, the faint aroma of wok oils, and busy kitchen sounds that mingle with regular lunchtime chatter.

What sets Hung Kee apart is its focus on classic noodle preparations and pork-based dishes that you won’t easily find elsewhere nowadays. The Konlo Wantan Mee with Char Siew and Cantonese-style fried noodles are crowd favorites, reflecting recipes kept consistent over many years. Locals appreciate the quick service here, making it an efficient spot for a substantial meal during lunch hours.

The restaurant’s clientele tends to be regulars who know what they want—workers, nearby office employees, and those craving familiar homestyle tastes. The ambience stays steady throughout the day, with a generally relaxed but bustling pace, especially around meal times. For a quieter visit, mid-morning or later in the afternoon can offer a less crowded experience.

On the menu, you’ll find a range of offerings like fishball soup, wat tan hor (egg noodles in gravy), sweet and sour pork, fried wontons, and even local-style iced coffee, capturing a slice of KL’s everyday food culture. Some diners enjoy ordering more adventurous options like pork liver and spare parts stir-fries, reminiscent of older-generation cooking practices that few places still serve.

Service here is noted for being friendly and efficient, with staff going the extra mile in small ways that make dining comfortable and informal. It’s the kind of place where quick, tasty meals meet genuine local warmth rather than polished presentation or modern decor.

Overall, Hung Kee is best suited for those looking to experience traditional Chinese noodle dishes in a straightforward environment without fuss. If you appreciate food that tastes like it has a story behind it, with decades of consistent preparation, this is an everyday kind of spot to settle into—especially if you enjoy noodles and pork dishes served with old-school sincerity in the heart of KL’s Pudu neighborhood.

I had a plate of nasi goreng with a cup of teh C, and it was absolutely satisfying! The fried rice was cooked just the way I like it not oily at all and pairing it with sambal belacan and garlic gave it that perfect kick. The portion was filling, the taste was spot on, and I was especially impressed with the service. My lunch was served in less than 3 minutes fast and efficient! Overall, I’m really happy with both the food and the service. Highly recommend this shop if you’re looking for a good meal and a pleasant dining experience.

Had both breakfast and lunch here—every bite was delicious, and the prices are super reasonable. The staff? Absolutely top-notch. I even asked to buy some tissue, and instead of selling me one, they kindly offered their shop’s tissue for free. That’s the kind of thoughtful service that keeps me coming back!

Food still good but don’t compare with those old timers as this shop been almost 50 years and the taste still 7.5/10 as is acceptable, authentic quality and must try their stir fried noodles because is very original as they have pork liver and spare parts other places don’t serve this anymore

Old school decor, old school smells, good ol simpler flavors, old school taste. Exactly how it has been for the past 20 years I've frequented this establishment. Even my Hong Kong guests were impressed.
